As we all know that Teachers’ Day is a memorable day to honor with appreciation to teachers, this is because teachers work hard to help their students learn despite their difference in their area of specialization.

To honor this day, the Federal Government has made a motion to approve the sum of #75,000 as a stipend for each semester of students undergoing degree programmes in Education in any of the public universities in Nigeria.

To complete the circle, the Federal Government also made known that Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) students will also receive #50,000 as a stipend for each semester.

This is part of the government plan to help standardize and improve the education system and also an act to help students with the capabilities of teaching students enjoy the offer in order to boost teachers’ instincts.

Malan Adamu, the Minister of Education made the announcement on Tuesday at the World’s Teachers’ Day celebration that was held at Eagle Square in Abuja, Nigeria.

Adamu whose speech was conveyed by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Arc. Sonny Echono made known that his ministry will continue to join hand with the state’s government to make sure there are foolproof guarantee job opportunities for students on graduation.

In his words, he mentioned the below:

“Undergraduate students of B.Ed / B.A. Ed/ BSc. Ed in Public institutions is to receive stipends of N75,000.00 per semester while NCE students will get N50,000.00 as stipends per semester.”

“Federal Government should find the modality through which respective states’ governments could provide automatic employment for NCE graduates at the Basic Education level.”

We are hoping that the new update will begin to run around soon, as many students from public universities are looking forward to enjoying this big opportunity.
