Coming to our ears is that the Federal Government has finally resumed the 2022 FG Conditional Cash Transfer programme in certain states in the country.
The Conditional Cash Transfer is only available to some people and they are:
- To be given to support the poor and vulnerable people in order to improve consumption and healthy living
- To give the poor and needy a cash gift of N5000
- Given to help reduce the risks of ailment arising from poor mindsets
- Made available to help reduce the impact of poverty, prevent vulnerable households from going down the poverty life
An announcement was made by the Lagos state, Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke that the Lagos state chapter of the FG Conditional Cash Transfer programme will resume the cash disbursement programme to the poor.
The update from the Commissioner reads:
“The programme is to facilitate the transfer of N5,000 per month to beneficiaries, which is paid on a bi-monthly basis (every two months), with payment given to all eligible households selected from the National Social Register.”
“The livelihood component of this programme is fundamentally aimed at enabling beneficiaries to establish a sustainable means of livelihood.”
“A total number of 6,810 beneficiaries from six targeted LGAs (Apapa, Amuwo-Odofin, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos Island, and Badagry) have been benefitting from the FG Conditional Cash Transfer programme in Lagos State since its implementation,”- Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke explained.”
It is a piece of good news coming from the FG to people who really need a helping hand at the moment.
