CBN Covid-19 Loan 2021 Portal Now Open:
Following the CBN’s decision to bring about an extension in the non-interest window to businesses and households that have been negatively affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The NIRSAL Microfinance Bank’s portal is now openly available to applicants who are eligible to apply under the scheme.

Who is eligible for the CBN Covid-19 Loan?
MSMEs that are with 1 to 5 staff and with verifiable evidence of business activities that were affected as a result of the pandemic with proper evidence of job protection for its staff.
Health-related business (pharmaceuticals and medical supplies), hospitality business, manufacturing or value addition, Airline service providers, trading, and other income-generating businesses under the prescription of CBN and Shari’ah compliant.

A financial limit of N1,000,000 max has been set for each household and N2,500,000 for MSMEs.
Now that we have looked into the requirements let’s get started with the procedure on how to apply for the Covid-19 CBN loan.
How to Apply for the CBN Covid-19 Loan
The CBN Covid-19 loan application is pretty simple as it is split into 6 simple stages, to ensure that you get the best result you must follow each step carefully.
You are to apply at the official website www.nmfb.com.ng
Note: the platform is complex, once you click next after completing the current stage don’t refresh the page, or else things can go wrong.
I have been getting some complaints from some candidates that their dashboard shows a “BVN not validated” error message.
To solve this make sure your keyboard cursor (the vertical line that blinks) is in the field, then you can input and save.
Follow the steps I’m about to explain, you won’t even need to try more than once.
- First, click on the application link
- Now input your BVN,
- After you enter your BVN, wait a bit. It might show you BVN is not correct or network, retry it.
- Then click on the jump-arrow key,
- It will redirect you to the state of residence field, you can leave that field and navigate back to the BVN field and then leave the cursor there while it finishes loading.
- And at the last stage, you need to agree with their terms and condition.
Quick info for those who successfully applied last year, you can use your reference number to come back as a returning applicant to re-edit your information and then resubmit
As soon as you are done you will receive a congratulatory message telling you that you have successfully completed the process.
